Liz's Birth Story
A Joyful and Unforgettable Home Birth
On October 5, 2015, I woke up already in labor, feeling each surge coming on. Knowing I’d need energy, I did what any reasonable person would do—I ate seven waffles!
Once I was satisfied and ready, we settled in for the peaceful home birth we had planned. Our goal was a water birth, but of course, we discovered we didn’t have the right pump to inflate the birth tub! So, we rolled with it and labored together for six hours, trusting the process.
When it was time, we called the midwife. She arrived, took one look, and ten minutes later—at 1:02 PM—Mason was born, weighing 6 lbs. 3 oz. Perfect, healthy, and loved from the very start.
Our dog, Kylie, quietly watched over us, offering comfort. Mason’s birth was peaceful, powerful, and full of love. From the moment he arrived, we knew he was ready to take on the world in his unique way.
